HELIOS and its People | 30. 03. 2011

New future of Asseco Solutions and HELIOS products lies in the hands of the Czecho-Slovak Board of Directors, composed of five Members. Both the Czech and the Slovak part of the company still have their own General Directors. All the Members of the Board of Directors are responsible for managing particular sections of the company in both the countries.

Ing. Peter Lang

Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Asseco Solutions SR (Slovak Republic)

Responsibility: overall management of the company and management of Products

He graduated from the Building Faculty of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava and he is a holder of a professional diploma in management at the City University Bratislava. As early as during his university studies he started to be engaged in information technologies. He worked as a programmer in the company Pozemní stavby, where he focused on the systems of manufacturing management and on the production calculations of building panels producers. In February 1990 he co-founded the company DATALOCK and in May 1991 he assumed the Director´s office in this company. Subsequently he was gradually leaving the sphere of programming and concentrating on managerial functions, where he finally found his only engagement.

What does the name Helios mean to me?

Helios is the symbol of warmth and light, it has positive emanation… And this is what we want to bring with our systems for our customers too.

How do I perceive the future of information systems?

The future of the Helios information systems? Nowadays they are already a clear number one on the Czech and Slovak markets in the number of implementations in the SMB segment and this position will only strengthen and spread to other market segments in the course of time.

Ing. Stanislav Sýkora

Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Asseco Solutions CR (Czech Republic)

Responsibility: Human Resources and Services

Having graduated from the Agricultural College in Prague, he started his work career as a programmer in the company Agrodat. In 1990 he became an employee of the company LCS International, in which he held various positions. In the course of time he was among others the Helios Orange Division Director, the HR Director and the Deputy General Director. In August 2007 he was appointed the LCS General Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

What does the name Helios mean to me?

Helios = our brightest sun, the god of information systems. The protector of our customers, which shines on their way so that they would not get lost in the forest of numbers.

How do I perceive the future of information systems?

The future is in clouds – that is, in cloud computing. And the heaven with clouds accompanies us everywhere, whether we sit in front of our PC, travel with our notebook, iPad, mobile phone or another mobile device. And so we will still have our information system at our hand. The only thing to pay attention to is to guarantee that our sun shines through this cloud too. :)

Ing. Martina Mošková

Member of the Board of Directors:

Responsibility: Finance

She graduated from the Economic University in Bratislava, Faculty of Economic Informatics, major Accounting and Auditing. Prior to assuming the office of the Director of the Financial Section in the company DATALOCK, where she has been working since 2007, she had occupied managerial positions in the economic field in the companies Ringier Slovakia a.s., Bratislava and NRC a.s., Trenčín. She was appointed the Member of the Board of Directors of the company DATALOCK in 2008.

What does the name Helios mean to me?

Helios is for me the embodiment of the sun, which gives me a huge amount of energy and helps me to survive even the most demanding days. In our systems it is the sun which rises every day at the moment of my switching my computer on, accompanies me the entire day and helps me to be more productive and efficient.

How do I perceive the future of information systems?

Simplicity and promptness of obtaining information from whichever place and whichever mobile devices through internet connection. And this is also valid for information coming from economic systems. A predominant role is as early as now played by the need of providing information online for managers, directors and sales force. This can be done by superstructure solutions without processing various presentations and outputs. And the second part, related rather to the future, are “clouds”, lowering upon us from everywhere. The companies want to invest less and less into new technologies and into running these devices. That is, they do not want to pay for software, but for its utilization.

Ing. Radoslav Balvan

Member of the Board of Directors

Responsibility: Development

He majored in Informatics – Software Engineering and Information Technologies Security at the Faculty of Electrotechnics and Informatics of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. Since 1997 he has been working at the company DATALOCK, where he was the executive in the Development Department, responsible for the module Analyses and Statistics, until 2005. Simultaneously he was the head of the Leasing Development Team in the project Volkswagen Financial Services Slovakia. From September 2005 till March 2007 he worked in the company Accenture as Systems Analyst. From there he returned to DATALOCK and in October 2007 he was appointed the Director of the Development Department.

What does the name Helios mean to me?

When we unified the product portfolio during the integration, I got the idea that “Helios” is a very suitable name for an information system, since this was the name of the god of the sun in the Greek mythology. And an information system can illuminate our way and help us see what we otherwise could not. It is also able to provide us with energy – by saving our own during everyday work. If it is properly set, we can even sunbathe during working.

How do I perceive the future of information systems?

Look at how the scope of information systems expands. We want to see information on smartphones, tablets, netbooks, notebooks – in short everywhere we need it at the moment. In return we feed information systems with information on ourselves – where we just are, who we are calling and writing with… In this context it is clear that there will still be a lot to do in this sphere and so I see the future of information systems (including ours) in bright colours.

Ing. Jiří Hub

Member of the Board of Directors

Responsibility: Business and Marketing

He graduated from the University of Economics in Prague, Faculty of International Relations, major Foreign Trade. As early as prior to graduating he was engaged in marketing at LCS International, where he gradually established a full-fledged marketing team. In 2000 he also led the negotiation team during the acquisition of the company Softprofes, s.r.o. In the following years he successively became the Marketing Director and later the Director of the Finance Division and simultaneously the Member of the Board of Directors.

What does the name Helios mean to me?

As for me, Helios stands for the Czechoslovak history of company information systems.

How do I perceive the future of information systems?

I´ll start at the end: I see the future of our information systems in an absolutely identical position as the future of information systems generally. Our vision is to be the number one on the European market of company information systems, therefore I find it quite logical J. I perceive the future of company information systems in the virtual world, or let´s say the online world, nowadays the term cloud computing is often used. I suppose that all data will be available from anywhere, as our devices will not serve to save them but just to get access to them. This is why I am also convinced that we will go through a stormy development of the mobile world and the role performed now by our mobile phone will be played by our one and only computer. At the most we will have some expansion device in our office, into which our mobile will “click into”, but we will probably not need anything else.
