New Head of HELIOS Sales for SME | 28. 04. 2011

In January 2011 Jan Martof (1968) joined the pool of the Helios team managers. He started his career at Asseco Solutions ČR (Czech Republic) as Head of Direct Sales for the SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) Segment.

Jan Martof came to Asseco Solutions from České Radiokomunikace (Czech Radiocommunication Corporation), or more precisely from T-Mobile, where he held the office of the Regional Manager for the same - SME - customers. Before this he had been working for 15 years at the company Konica Minolta Business Solutions s.r.o. in various business positions, last as Business Director – Region Moravia.

He graduated from Secondary Agricultural-Technical School in Boskovice and during his professional career he attended a large number of specialized and managerial courses and business trainings.

The new Head of Sales says: “It is interesting to shift from a common user of information systems to the position of a supplier. As user I have been handling various systems. Once I even had a possibility to influence the selection of a new system, or let´s say its adaptation to the requirements of the business section. I submitted a number of proposals and comments, I did not comprehend why this or that could not be done, because it is so simple, you add a button and I will see what I need... Simply a typical customer. It is only now that I see what is hidden behind these requirements on the other side, how much work and experience is involved... Nothing is done by itself, nothing is as easy as it seems... And this all costs something too.” He adds: “Selling information systems is in many aspects very similar to selling other products. Still the same has to be done –try to be faster at the client than your competitors, be a better businessman, capture people´s attention, establish a relationship, be proactive, never give up and sell!”

Jan Martof likes riding his motorcycle and mountain bicycle. Among his other hobbies we can mention various outdoor activities. This year he would like to return to geocaching. He is a father of a twenty-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter.
