The basic characteristics of Helios Green were already known from the start - multi-tier architecture and component construction. All of this is done in order to support a decentralized development to the maximum extent - the original idea of a cooperation development concerning a large information system was already successful from 1996 to 2001. This cooperation initiative was further accelerated by the Microsoft .NET platform and the migration of all current applications from Powerbuilder to MS C#. The technological change along with the system's internal case migration to web technologies have given the Helios Green Open project a completely new dimension. The above-mentioned features made possible preparation of specific solutions for more than seventy business fields and also the support of very specialized know-how by an information system in a short time period. The project idea enabled consulting, implementing, and developing companies to carry on common projects fast and in a high quality, which was the main goal of Helios Green Open.
Helios Green Open partners recruit mainly from developing companies. Applications that are created on the common platform are intended for a large number of branches - e.g., commercial and wholesale companies , different types of manufacturing, utilities, maintenance planning, transportation and mechanization, maintenance and operation, civil engineering, rail engineering, health care, outdoor advertisement planning for media companies, EIS - managerial evaluation, e-business, mobile clients in the commercial traveler system, and many more. The portfolio of branches is growing constantly.
The project's goal is not humble - the intention is to cover the most important fields and specialized branches and thus create a new standard on the information technology market not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad. After a great success in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the Helios Green project is now beginning to spread into more countries.
The partnership idea is LCS International's key field. LCS cooperates on improving Helios Green and creating new branches with a large number of leading consultancy, development, and implementation companies. To a maximum extend, it makes the effort to support cooperation between Czech and world leading software companies; to unite a disparate market and gradually replace competition by cooperation. Helios Green Open results can serve as a good example of this strategy.
