Od roku 2010 mimo jiné jako pilíř technické přípravy výroby, začal v Albatrosu fungovat ERP systém Helios Green. V roce 2023 z něj firma migrovala na nejmodernější produkt z dílny téhož producenta – Helios Nephrite.
“The Helios system allows us to publish books in large quantities while maintaining high quality. However, it is not just book production itself—our distribution to customers and other business processes are also highly automated thanks to Helios. Personally, I consider Commercial Logistics/Warehouse, Finance, and Workflow to be the most important modules,” says Tomáš Trefný, IT Director and CIO of Albatros Media, adding: “Information technology in general serves as a tool for efficiency and productivity at Albatros, supporting our company’s growth.”
According to Trefný, preparation for the migration from Helios Green to Helios Nephrite was thorough and took several months, which meant the actual migration itself took only a few days.
The main reason for adopting Helios Nephrite, as Tomáš Trefný puts it, was the search for a comprehensive business management solution.
Tomáš Trefný highlights working with Helios Nephrite for two main reasons. The first is process simplification, such as handling book 'birth certificates' and communicating with e-shops.
“In Helios Nephrite, a 'birth certificate' is created for every book, accompanying it throughout its entire lifecycle and integration with e-shops. The web portal helps us tender printers for specific projects,” he explains.
Tomáš Trefný sees another benefit on the financial side.
“Following the implementation of the Helios system, our operations became more efficient, allowing us to respond flexibly to shifts in a dynamic market. Given our volume, this naturally translates into significant financial savings,” Trefný notes, concluding: “Our employees evaluate the system positively as well. They appreciate features like its clarity or the ability to work across multiple monitors simultaneously.”
